terms
Last updated October 7, 2026. By using universal-modder, the website and the desktop app, you agree to these terms.
what universal-modder does
universal-modder hosts browser games that makers build from their source, and it finds games you own on your PC, installs mods and mashups made by other people, and launches them. To install a mod, the desktop app changes files in your game folders, and keeps a record so uninstalling can put the original files back.
games and mods belong to their makers
Every game, mod, and mashup is made by its maker and published under the maker's license, shown on its page. universal-modder doesn't own them, and mod files download from where their makers publish them. Respect each license and each maker's credits.
your games and their rules
- You need your own legal copy of every game a mod uses. We don't provide games, ROMs, or other paid content.
- You're responsible for following each game's terms. Don't use mods in online modes where they aren't allowed: games with anti-cheat can ban accounts for it.
- Back up saves you care about. Mods can break games or saves, and uninstalling can't undo files a game writes while it runs.
accounts
Keep your sign-in secure and give accurate information. We can suspend accounts that break these terms, abuse the service, or put other people at risk.
publishing
Publishing is invite-only. If you publish, you confirm that you have the right to share what you upload, that it's labeled honestly, and that it contains no malware or anything designed to cheat in online games or harm other people. We can remove anything that breaks these terms.
no warranty
universal-modder and the games and mods on it are provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for lost data, damaged installs, bans, or other damages from using it.
changes
We can update these terms. If a change matters, we say so on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use universal-modder after that means you accept the new terms.
